The Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorders Clinic at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego, UCSD specializes in the testing, diagnosis, and treatment for
children with eosinophilic esophagitis, gastroenteritis, and/or colitis. Our clinical team integrates patient education with therapy using a team approach
for integrated care that includes Allergy, Immunology, Gastroenterology, Nurse Coordinator, Dietician, Pathology, and Clinical Research Coordinator. The
clinic works in conjunction with the Aceves Lab at the University of California San Diego, School of Medicine to complete clinical and translational
studies to gain better insight into the impact and mechanisms of tissue remodeling in eosinophilic esophagitis patients (EoE). By coupling with the adult
UCSD physicians, we will be able to also help adults with eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders EGIDs. San Diego has been a site for patient education
conferences in the past in collaboration with the American Partnership for Eosinophilic Disorders and looks forward to continued collaborations with
patient advocacy groups to meet the CEGIR mission. The UCSD/RCHSD clinical site of CEGIR looks forward to being an integral part of the CEGIR mission to
improve the lives of individuals with eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders by contributing to the multicenter innovative research and clinical expertise
that CEGIR aims to provide.
